À propos
A genuine invitation to dream, l’Arpeggiata’s programmes return to the unexpected, bringing the Baroque back to its original meaning: a pearl of irregular shape, a surprising element. Christina Pluhar and her ensemble navigate like few others between learned and popular music, and they build bridges between them with communicative joy.
“Alla Napoletana” transports us into the enchanting atmosphere of Naples. Between the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries, Naples gave birth to refined, lyrical learned music, while at the same time cultivating a popular tradition that is still very much alive today. Tarantellas and Fandangos, anonymous pieces and illustrious Baroque figures invite us on a journey to one of the Mediterranean’s most fascinating cities. Alongside L’Arpeggiata, dancer Anna Dengo superbly embodies the lively rhythms of the show.
This concert is performed on period instruments.
